Examination and Promotion

EXAMINATIONS

  1. There will be three examinations for classes LKG to V and four examinations for classes VI to X in every academic year
  2. Marks will be awarded to the students based on the quality of the answers provided to the questions in the examination.
  3. Willful breach of any of the rules during an examination may cause cancellation of the paper or any other corrective measure.
  4. Application for verification of marks should be submitted to the principal within a period of 3 days after the declaration of the results. Answer sheets of final examination will not be shown to the students.
  5. Students’ evaluation will be on the basis of Grades awarded in place of marks as per the examination policy
  6. The minimum marks required for passing in each subject and in the aggregate shall be 33% or D Grade.

PROMOTION POLICY

Promotion is granted on the basis of regular and satisfactory work done during the whole year. The Principal is the final authority of the student’s fitness for promotion to the next class. For Class LKG and HKG, promotion to the next class is on the basis of the aggregate of PT 1, PT 2.

PT 3 and Annual Examination marks, which will be added with their marks of subject enrichment activities and notebook assessment in each subject. For Class I to VIII, the assessment of the student will be made on the basis of the aggregate of PT 1, PT 2 and PT 3 along with subject enrichment activities as well as their notebook assessment marks of each subject (out of 10).

For Class IX and X, the Annual Examination marks are out of 80, which will be added with the average of three best Periodic test marks (out of 10) and the subject enrichment activity marks as well as notebook assessment marks (out of 10).

LKG to Class V

No student will be detained, however the parents will be guided, if necessary, to give their consent so that their ward may repeat the class in order to have a better academic base.

Class VI to VIII

If the child gets 33% in all subjects (Grand Total and Annual Exam), the child will be promoted to the next class and the result will be displayed – Promoted to the next class.

If the child fails in one subject, the child will be promoted to the next class and the result will be displayed as – Passed by grace. o Those who fail in two or more subjects will be promoted only after clearing the Supplementary exam.

  • Class IX and X

If the child gets 33% in all subjects, the child will be declared as Pass.

If the child gets below 33% in any subject, the child will be promoted only after clearing the Supplementary exam.

EXAM POLICY

The assessment structure for Nursery is Term 1 and Term 2 Examination conducted in the month of October and February respectively. The assessment structure for LKG to Class VIII will be PT 1 in July-August, Term 1 in October, PT 2 in December and Term 2 exam in February-March.

The assessment structure for Class IX and X will be PT 1 Exam in July, PT 2 Exam in October, PT 3 Exam in December, First Pre-Board Exam in January, Second Pre Board exam in February and Annual Exam as per the schedule of CBSE.

  • Subject enrichment activities will be conducted in each subject. These activities are aimed at enhancing the skill and understanding of students in specific subjects. These may include: o Quizzes, Surprise tests, Presentations, Art integrated activities, experiments, portfolio, flash cards, poetry, dramatics, reports etc.

Notebooks are assessed regularly for regularity, completeness, neatness and upkeep.
